It seems that 2 basic facts are being forgotten or cynically ignored<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Great Britain is NOT <\/strong>at war with Russia<\/li>\n
  2. Great Britain has NO <\/strong>economic or military agreement with Ukraine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    And whilst the majority of the West \u2013 including patriotic Populists<\/strong> \u2013 support the struggle of the Ukrainian military against the Russian invasion force \u2013 rightly supplying military hardware to assist them in their defence of their homeland \u2013 when it comes to sanctions it seems that our liberal elite \u2013 are far more interested in \u201csoundbites\u201d for their Globalist Woke allies than in ensuring the sanction policy is both logical and successful.<\/p>\n

    Sanctions should be<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Thought out and comprehensive in inflicting maximum damage to the sanctioned countries political and economic system<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      But not<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. At the expense of the hard-working families of Britain<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        And should<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Leave an option open to encourage \/ allow for a peaceful solution.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          And looking at the sanctions imposed on Russia by Great Britain \u2013 it is apparent that none of these criteria are being met.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

          A. Sanctioning selected oligarchs and Russian officials \u2013 freezing assets<\/p>\n

          As we have seen \u2013 they were completely ill conceived and executed \u2013 as persons like Abramovich moved assets in Ervington to his colleague Tenenbaum, a senior colleague at Chelsea on the day of the invasion. Usmanov transferred funds on the day of the invasion to a trust fund, Mordashov the biggest shareholder of Tui travel company transferred his full holdings to his wife.<\/em><\/p>\n

          B. Sadiq Javid instructing the NHS not to use Russian gas<\/p>\n

          Again, who does that hurt the most? Mr. Putin or our “not fit for purpose” NHS service \u2013 who will need to reduce capital expenditure to pay for increasing gas supplies from other sources.<\/em><\/p>\n

          C. Restrictions on Russian gas and oil<\/p>\n

          Our energy prices go up\u2026whilst countries like India have increased their oil purchases from Russia by a multiplier of 4 since the invasion \u2013 all at discounted prices? How did that help?<\/em><\/p>\n

          D. Banning the channel RT from our airwaves<\/p>\n

          is completely counterproductive (our news journalists there \u2013 now face tougher rules) and as believers in free speech \u2013 as we are not at war with Russia \u2013 we cannot support<\/em><\/p>\n

          E.\u00a0 Banning the export of luxury goods, art and fashion to Russia.<\/p>\n

          Who will this hurt \u2013 apart from the employees of our<\/strong> companies making these goods?<\/em><\/p>\n

           <\/p>\n

          So, each key headline making sanction \u2013 has missed the mask\u2026<\/p>\n

          Why? Probably because neither Boris or the Red, \u201cSir\u201d Starmer has done their homework….<\/p>\n

          And as for allowing \u2013 a road to peace available \u2013 that also seems just like Mariupol \u2013 to be up in flames.<\/strong><\/p>\n
