{"id":2656,"date":"2022-03-01T09:48:31","date_gmt":"2022-03-01T09:48:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/?p=2656"},"modified":"2022-03-01T09:48:31","modified_gmt":"2022-03-01T09:48:31","slug":"public-sentiment-and-patriotism-force-the-west-to-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/?p=2656","title":{"rendered":"Public sentiment and patriotism force the West to act\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cA week is a long time in politics\u201d \u2026so the idiom goes\u2026and this seems never truer \u2013 than the almost <strong>universal unanimity<\/strong> of the peoples of Europe in their condemnation and demand for action against Russia for their invasion of independent Ukraine<\/p>\n<p>Less than 7-days ago; it seemed that President Putin was the master of the situation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Internal dissent had been silenced \u2013 often by deadly means<\/li>\n<li>Neighbouring Belorussia had become a vassal state<\/li>\n<li>Red China had become a close ally \u2013 after celebrating the election loss of President Trump \u2013 willing to see Ukraine as \u201ctheir Taiwan example\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Energy rich Russia was seeing Global highs in the prices of oil and gas \u2013 further boosting state coffers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Against this they saw<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Biden fiasco in Afghanistan \u2013 where the liberal press \u2013 made the Afghan refugees who refused to fight for freedom \u2013 the heroes of the story.<\/li>\n<li>Biden removing sanctions against the Russian Nord Stream 2 pipeline (whilst cancelling their own pipe line from Alaska)<\/li>\n<li>NATO riven with differences \u2013 with 20 of the 28 members still not paying their 2% promised military spending contribution that had been demanded by President Trump<\/li>\n<li>Trudeau enacting wartime based \u2013 emergency laws against his own Canadian citizens<\/li>\n<li>Macron of France declaring his desire to \u201cpiss off\u201d French citizens who are not vaccinated<\/li>\n<li>Britain\u2019s liberal media obsessing about did the Prime Minister attend a party or not\u2026<\/li>\n<li>A European Union fixated on punishing Britain for leaving the EC \u2013 as its president Tusk had said about those campaigning to leave \u201cthere will be \u201ca special place in Hell\u201d for people who promoted leaving<strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And based on that assessment \u2013 President Putin ratcheted up the pressure \u2013 demanding a permanent ban on Ukraine joining NATO, the withdrawal of western alliance troops and armour to the 1997 position (before NATO expansion east) \u2013 whilst simultaneously increasing their military presence along Ukraine\u2019s northern and eastern borders.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas America and Britain responded by sending limited military supplies into Ukraine \u2013 even though this response was visibly weakened when Joe Biden had publicly advised &#8220;It&#8217;s one thing if it&#8217;s a minor incursion\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet in mainland Europe the globalists were sitting on their hands\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The German Red-Green alliance sent 5,000 helmets to Ukraine as their only military supply contribution. As Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kiev responded &#8220;The behaviour of the German government leaves me speechless\u2026&#8221;What kind of support will Germany send next? Pillows?&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And so, 1-week ago \u2013 Putin decided to recognise the Russian occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk \u2013 as independent countries \u2013 who immediately \u2013 invited Russian troops to enter as peacekeepers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And that fait accompli would in all likelihood \u2013 have been tolerated \u2013 after expressions of shock and disappointment from Berlin, Paris and Rome\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The liberals and globalists would have commented \u2013 that Donetsk and Luhansk were Russian speaking areas, that Ukraine was a semi-failed state, that global business had to continue\u2026that Joe Biden had deterred Russia from encroaching even further into Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>And the western media \u2013 and Facebook \u2013 Twitter \u2013 would have switched focus back to their first loves of identity politics, vaccine mandates, WOKE propaganda.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But instead, Putin went further<\/strong>\u2026. sending troops, armoured vehicles, artillery and military planes deep in Ukraine \u2013 launching a 4-prong attack to seize Kiev \u2013 as Putin\u2019s loyal oligarchs like Abramovich caught private flights back to Mother Russia, to sit out the \u201cstorm\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And the initial European weak response \u2013 met with a fierce disapproval \u2013 the \u201csilent majority\u201d became vocal\u2026and finally the political class acted in support of the Ukrainian resistance &#8211; a resistance that showed (unlike the cowards in Afghanistan) that patriotism \u2013 defence of the homeland was a cause worthy to fight for.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our hopes and prayers are with the defenders of Ukraine \u2013 their courage so far is a beacon of hope \u2013 creating a new pan European atmosphere that the Russian oligarchs and apparatchiks will no longer, we trust ever enjoy <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cA week is a long time in politics\u201d \u2026so the idiom goes\u2026and this seems never truer \u2013 than the almost [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":2657,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[13,11,8],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2656"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=2656"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2656\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2658,"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2656\/revisions\/2658"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/2657"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=2656"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=2656"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/far-right.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=2656"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
