Since the Johnson government was elected in December 2019 \u2013 17 <\/strong>ministers have either left, resigned or been pushed out of the Cabinet.<\/p>\n

Many will not be missed \u2013 but Lord Agnew \u2013 is one \u2013 who will be solely missed, not only by Populists who believe that ministers are there to serve; we the people, but also by millions of law abiding, tax paying citizens.<\/p>\n

In his resignation speech \u2013 he outlined the total incompetence of our government in its failure to run even simple checks against companies that were applying for our tax payer\u2019s money.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe oversight by both BEIS [the Department for Business, Enterprise and Industry Strategy] and the British Business Bank of the panel lenders of BBLs has been nothing less than woeful. They have been assisted by the Treasury, who appear to have no knowledge or little interest in the consequences of fraud to our economy or our society.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schoolboy errors were made, for example allowing over a thousand companies to receive bounce back loans that were not even trading when Covid struck …<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been arguing with Treasury and BEIS officials for nearly two years to get them to lift their game. I\u2019ve been mostly unsuccessful.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The incompetence and fraud \u2013 will cost British tax payers Billions of pounds <\/strong><\/p>\n

And who runs the Treasury? The Chancellor Rishi Sunak \u2013 <\/strong>and for this \u2013 not only should be never be Prime Minister \u2013 but if Lord Agnew\u2019s comments are correct \u2013 he should not even be in government. <\/strong>The buck has to stop at the top.<\/p>\n

And where is mainstream media since this announcement? Investigating \u2013 asking questions? Of course they are not \u2013 but instead running their \u201cPartygate story\u201d \u2013 of who had a glass of wine and where.<\/p>\n

Where is the Red opposition? Even the London luvvies must care if billions that could have been spent on social care, NHS, levelling up had been defrauded from the tax payer.\u00a0 We have silence\u2026as just like their friends in the media \u2013 sensationalism and not economics \u2013 is the only optic they can discuss.<\/p>\n
